Matteo Carcassi wrote a lot of charming little short pieces, and here is one that I’ve not heard many people play. It’s so short that it’s not even really a Rondo—the main theme only comes back one time. Its form is basically A-B-A. I found it in an obscure anthology, and created my own version of it since there were so many typos. You can download it below.

Matteo Carcassi 1792-1853. That’s a pretty plush footstool.
Here is the piece if you want to try it out. No fingerings. I might make a repertoire course on it if there are enough people who would like that

Thank you
Studying this short video for just one day, I have learned more about counting correctly and the use of rest and free strokes to separate a melody from the accompaniment than I have been able to learn from any other study in the past year.
Thanks.
I”m really glad to hear how much it has helped you! Thank you for letting me know.

Well, I’ve been playing it for months (badly). When I saw/heard your video, I was utterly astonished at how beautiful it is. I had previously had no idea that melody was in there. All at once I understood Frederick Noad’s comments about the importance of differentiating between rest and free strokes..
I still can’t play it like you do, but I’m happily improving.
Thanks again.
It’s a long shot but I’d dearly like to hear what Giuliani’s
Minuet de la Cour should sound like. I bet it don’t sound anything like what I make of it. haha.
