This is a follow-up to last week’s video on “finishing” learning a challenging piece of music. In this video I run through Jarabi, the arrangement by South African guitarist and composer Derek Gripper of Toumani Diabate’s amazing Kora version. I have the piece memorized but it’s not perfect, insomuch as it ever can be. If you follow along, I provide tips on how to stay in a positive performance mindset while running through a piece like this. Enjoy! My live course, Positively Dangerous on the Classical Guitar will be picking up again in September, and in the meantime, I’ll be providing more videos like this as well as a mini-course called Building the Perfect Practice Session.
