The recital takes place in a lovely period room with great acoustics. It fits about 50 people, and last time I played there, I was thrilled to find that it was a full house!
Ticket-buyers also get a discount on a post-concert dinner at local restaurant Bistro Rollin (5th Ave & Pelham)
The Bartow-Pell mansion is a great place to visit! Weather permitting, you might want to come early and check out the grounds a bit before hearing the concert. The recital will include a some of my favorite well-known classical guitar masterpieces, by Luis Milan, Luis de Narvaez, Fernando Sor, and Agustin Barrios, It will also include a major new transcription of Mozart’s complete Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Serenade K. 525) for solo guitar, as well as a set of four “Islands” from my Archipelago series.
